HOW TO PLAY

BASIC COMBAT

Your units fight enemies automatically. Survive endless waves to earn gold and grow your army. If all your units fall, the battle is lost.

CHAIN LINKING

  • Drag from one unit to another to LINK them.
  • Linked units form a CHAIN. Longer chain = +30% damage per link.
  • Right-click a chain (or unit) to break it.
  • Shift + Drag a unit to reposition it.
  • Each unit can have a maximum of 2 links.

TENSION SYSTEM

  • Each unit has a TENSION meter (red bar above HP).
  • Tension grows when: chain is long, units take damage, links are stretched.
  • If tension hits 100%, the chain SNAPS and units scatter.
  • Manage your chain length carefully.

CHAIN BURST

Press SPACE or TAP the BURST button / gauge when full to unleash a massive AoE blast. Damage and radius scale with your longest chain length.

POWER-UP ITEMS

Enemies sometimes drop items (potions, crystals, gold, scrolls). Items glow with a yellow ring and show a CLICK hint above them.

  • Click directly on an item to use it instantly.
  • Or let any unit walk onto the item — they auto-pickup when close.
  • Items disappear after about 12 seconds, so grab them quickly.

TALENTS & PROGRESSION

Every run earns Skill Points based on the waves you clear, enemies you kill, and your best combo — even if you lose. Spend them in the TALENTS menu on permanent upgrades (more HP, gold, damage, a free Rogue, and more). Talents are saved forever and apply to every future battle.

CHAIN COMBOS

HOW CHAINS WORK

Drag from one unit to another to LINK them. A group of linked units is a CHAIN. The longer a unit's chain, the more it benefits — but tension also builds faster, so don't over-extend.

Damage bonus = chain length: each extra unit in the chain adds +30% damage to everyone in it.

1 UNIT x1.0 — no bonus (not linked)
2 UNITS x1.3 damage
3 UNITS x1.6 damage + unlocks x3 effects below
4 UNITS x1.9 damage

EFFECTS BY CHAIN LENGTH

These activate for a unit when it is in a chain that is long enough. The unit just needs to BE in the chain — it does not matter what its partners are.

CHAIN 2+ Mage — Chain Heal: a linked Mage slowly heals every ally in its chain.
CHAIN 2+ Rogue — Crit: a linked Rogue gains a 35% chance to deal double damage.
CHAIN 3+ Knight — Smash: a linked Knight knocks enemies back on hit.
CHAIN 3+ Archer — Bounce Shot: arrows leap to the next enemy for half damage.

SYNERGIES (who you link matters!)

Unlike the effects above, these reward the EXACT MIX of units in one chain. Build the right squad and powerful bonuses turn on automatically (their name floats over the chain).

DEF VANGUARD WALL — Knight + Paladin: the whole chain takes 25% less damage.
ATK VOLLEY — Archer + Shooter: arrows & bullets deal +35% damage.
ATK ARCANE BATTERY — Mage + Bomber/Shooter: their hits set enemies on fire (burn).
TEMPO WAR DRUMS — 3+ different unit types: everyone attacks 20% faster.
SUSTAIN PERFECT SQUAD — 5+ different unit types: tension builds 30% slower (big chains stay stable).

Synergies stack, but longer chains raise tension faster — greedy super-chains still risk a snap. Choose your squad wisely.

UNIT ABILITIES (always on)

These do not need a chain — they are how each class fights.

PALADIN Heals the whole chain a little on every strike — a tanky healer.
MAGE Hits an area and slows enemies caught in it.
BOMBER Lobs bombs that explode for splash damage. Can hit flyers.
SHOOTER Rapid-fire long range. Shreds flyers and back-line enemies.

SPECIAL SYSTEMS

BURST Chain Burst: AoE blast at every unit. Bigger/stronger with a longer chain. Press SPACE / tap BURST when full.
KILLS 5 Kill Combo: every 5 kills in a row boosts gold drops (+x0.5 each step).
WAVE 5 Warlord: every 5th wave spawns a giant Boss (200G + guaranteed item).

DANGERS

SNAP Chain Snap: tension at 100% breaks the chain and scatters its units. Keep linked units close together.
DISRUPTOR Doubles the tension you take when it hits you. Kill it fast.
SHAMAN Heals nearby enemies. Focus it down first.
BATS FLY Melee units (Knight, Rogue, Paladin) can't reach flyers. Bring Archer, Mage, Bomber or Shooter.
